As an experienced Occupational Therapist Nikky has lots of wellbeing support to offer you. She has developed unique and personable qualities that create a space for you to feel able to explore your current experiences.

Somehow Nikky was able to give me space to truly talk, I really didn’t expect that from the first session of meeting a total stranger!

Nikky uses her vast expertise and knowledge of mental health to assist you to build your self awareness. Using various psychological principles and encouraging self compassion you will feel more empowered to create a life more meaningful to you.

“Honestly, and I don’t understand it myself. I felt better just after an hour talking to her!”

Many people feel that mental health support is complicated… has strict guidelines… and enforces you to talk about past events. This is not the case for Occupational Therapy.

Occupational Therapy (OT) is focussed on the act of ‘doing’ - The occupations, activities, tasks that make up our day to day life shape ‘who we are’ and ‘how we feel’. Therefore, by addressing any imbalance within your daily occupations, and finding ways to self manage internal and external stressors Nikky will guide you to build a more contented, pro active, and meaningful life. If you would like to find out more about Occupational Therapy you can visit the Royal College of Occupational Therapy website.

Nikky can increase your understanding of your ‘internal world’. How your thoughts, and emotions relate to the behaviours, and actions you take, and inevitably the life you live. This is different to counselling, or psychological therapies. This is your space to be pro active in self managing what ever ‘blocks’ you have to living your life fully.

Nikky has access to a wide variety of tools, techniques and strategies drawn from psychological principles. She has used these in a variety of mental health settings throughout her 16+ years career.

Nikky is skilled in anxiety management, building self esteem, mood management, relapse prevention, lifestyle balance, distress tolerance, mindfulness and building independent living skills. She is also an Eating Disorder Specialist.

The skills she has can help you to explore and find the blocks that are stopping you from living your life in the way you would like to. She can support you to find solutions that ‘best fit’ your current circumstances.

A foundation of her support is often finding ‘your true values’ re-engaging with the activities that mean the most to you, and gradually shifting and creating a lifestyle that reflects these more and more. To do this it is usually important to explore how this got ‘lost’ in the first place. Support you to feel confident in putting your needs as a higher priority on a day to day basis.

All individual sessions are via zoom (as all face to face sessions are postponed due to corona virus).
